No, that's not who is coming, that's how many memberships are left available to purchase.

I have a funny feeling those numbers will get less and less by November 6. Gotta love the last minute people. For once I'm not one of them.

Also, here is a copy of our latest Press Release, which includes information about commuting to the convention in case there is still a SEPTA strike.
Zenkaikon Announces Sunday Raffle Grand Prize, SEPTA Strike Contingency Guide
Zenkaikon is happy to announce that in addition to its annual raffle giveaways of DVDs, manga, and more, they will be also be raffling off a number of gift cards, including a grand prize raffle on Sunday evening. The staff of Zenkaikon also wishes to inform its attendees of alternative transportation options should the current SEPTA strike extend through the convention.
About the Zenkaikon Raffle:
Zenkaikon's annual raffle has always offered prizes of DVDs, books, and other anime-related items. This year, however, Zenkaikon is also happy to be giving away a number of gift cards for Best Buy and Borders, providers of all your anime and manga needs. Ten dollar gift cards to either of these two stores will be raffled off every two hours from noon to midnight on Saturday, and from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. There will also be a mid point grand prize on Saturday evening of a $50 Best Buy gift card. The overall grand prize will be drawn on Sunday evening, rewarding the winner with a $100 Best Buy gift card. Raffle tickets are $1 each, and un-drawn tickets will remain in the raffle both days. Winners must present themselves during the convention to claim their prize.

About the SEPTA Transit Strike:
The SEPTA Transit Workers Union is currently on strike. At this point, no one is certain how long the strike will last, although there is hope that it will be resolved quickly. In the event that the strike lasts through the convention, the Zenkaikon has composed a SEPTA Strike Contingency Travel Guide, which outlines the various ways that users of public transit can get the Radisson. The staff of Zenkaikon wishes to assure its attendees that there are still a number of viable ways to get to the convention. SEPTA Regional Rail, certain SEPTA bus routes, and New Jersey transit will all continue to run during the strike. Full details on options can be found in the Guide. Attendees who have additional questions about getting to Zenkaikon after viewing the guide can contact the Public Relations Department at pr@zenkaikon.com

We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!

PRESS RELEASE: Zenkaikon Announces 2009 Attendance
VALLEY FORGE, PENNSYLVANIA – November 18, 2009: Zenkaikon is pleased to announce the attendance numbers for its 4th annual convention, which took place on November 7-8, 2009. The staff of Zenkaikon 2009 welcomed 1988 paid attendees over the course of the two-day event, which is a 47% increase over the previous year. This number does not include guests, dealers, staff, or complimentary memberships.
"Zenkaikon has been growing extremely rapidly, with over 180% attendance growth in the past two years," said Public Relations Coordinator Kristyn Souder. "Due to the surge in interest, we had to implement an attendance cap this year. We know this left some people disappointed, but we want to assure them that we are already working on acquiring a much larger venue for next year's event! Thank you to our many attendees for making Zenkaikon 2009 our biggest year ever."
The Zenkaikon staff looks forward to announcing their 2010 dates and location shortly.
About Zenkaikon:
Zenkaikon was formed by the merger of the anime and science fiction convention Zentrancon and the anime convention Kosaikon, both in the Philadelphia area. Founded in 2006, Zenkaikon held its 4th annual convention on November 7-8, 2009 at the Radisson Valley Forge. Nearly 2000 people attended to participate anime screenings, costume contests, video gaming, panels, concerts, dances, and more. Thanks to the support of its many attendees, Zenkaikon has grown into a successful and anticipated annual event. The Zenkaikon staff looks forward to expanding into a much larger venue for its 2010 convention. Potential attendees can stay apprised of future announcements by visiting http://www.zenkaikon.com
