I also have a room reservation for otakon as well. It is only 1 room however. It is being used as a back-up room. At this time, it is unavailable for others. In the event that is not needed, this reservation will be transferred to Bravo and his party.
The Otakon Otaku Bus is currently full, but as we've done in the past, we will open a waiting list. An Otakon Info Thread will be opened in the coming weeks. It will function just as the Katsucon and AnimeNEXT info threads have.
We will also consider formally announcing our "Ride and Room" policies and conditions for conventions. This is more for your information and to see how the policy works.

Just an FYI: The only bus that's currently available is a 15 passenger van, which is bigger than we really need at the moment. With the added cost of the 15, i told C&C to let me know if a 12 becomes available by this monday. The cost savings between a 12 and a 15 is around $120-150 dollars, so it does make a difference. For the time being, i told C&C to keep a 15 on reserve, but i wouldn't book the van until i know if a 12 is available. Monday or Tuesday at the latest is when i'll know.

In other words, the more expensive 15 passenger van is the only thing that's known to be available at the moment. The cheaper 12 passenger van maybe available, but i won't know for sure until monday or tuesday. In an effort to make this as cheap as possible for everyone, i've put a 15 passenger van on RESERVE (not placed a rental order for it, but told C&C Ford i want to hold the vehicle for a reservation later) so we have at least a guarantee of a bus. If the cheaper 12 passenger van is available, i will rent that. If not, we will be renting the more expensive 15 passenger van.

If we get a 15, at least you guys can't complain about being cramped. LoL. But in the end, a $120-150 dollar savings is nothing to laugh at.
Also, there may be a possible person to fill our 10th slot, but i won't know if Bravo needs it until the end of the week.

I want to go but I can't afford it (working part-time, they cut part-time hours, darn economy). I stayed in that hotel a few weeks ago IT IS AWESOME AND IT HAS AN INDOOR POOL AND HOT TUB =). Loved it.
If only I could get the funds within a few paychecks but I doubt it =(.

An important update that we've made is the room cost is now only $75-85 a person depending on how many people go. The rental van is going to be about $70 a person, and will include gas and parking in the price. These figures are for the WHOLE weekend, not per night. The other consideration is pre-registration, as waiting to register at the door, is a bit risky. once they hit the attendance cap, they close registration and no more badges will be issued. Pre-reg is only guaranteed way to attend this convention.
ALL MEMBERS ATTENDING THE OTAKON TRIP: YOU SHOULD HAVE PRE-REGISTERED AT THIS POINT. IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO, DO SO BY THE END OF THIS WEEK! PRE-REG IS SCHEDULED TO CLOSE VERY SOON! CHECK http://WWW.OTAKON.COM FOR DETAILS ON PRE-REG. IF YOU DO NOT PRE-REG, AND ARE DENIED ACCESS TO THE CONVENTION, YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE RIDE AND ROOM COSTS REGARDLESS. PLEASE PRE-REG FOR OTAKON NOW!

I know how you feel in the financial bind. This is my first Otakon though so I'm making sure I don't miss it. They've cut my hours at my job, but I'm offering my services to the others who want time off hehe. Sorry we won't see you cosplaying at Otakon this year but hey, you could always make it to one of the other TPO events =]

I think they got rid of the attendance cap, Cloud. They didn't have it last year, at least; nothing on the site indicates a cap.
Reduced-price pre-reg ended on Friday, meaning you can still pre-reg, but you'd be paying the at-door price of $65. Online registration ends a week before the con starts, if I'm not mistaken.
